Jacqui Martinez is a Honduran Artist and Educator, raised in Pasadena, California. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California Santa Cruz and has her Master’s Degree from New York University in Art and Education.

 

Her art explores the suffering of the planet and those that inhabit it. In analyzing

different studies of social, political and environmental content, she creatively reflects on the

historical and current tragedies with a surreal approach. Her work has become a direct response to social and environmental issues by connecting her personal experiences. By joining surrealist technique with elements of graffiti her hopes are to inspire solution-based conversations that can be held in institutions, conferences, educational spaces and social engagements.
